Guidelines for Online Learning
From Thursday 26 March, Goonellabah Public School will provide online learning for all students, either at home or under supervision at school. Our aim is to provide an online classroom similar to a physical classroom, to guide student learning, assist students maintain a level of routine and continue to provide feedback. This form of remote learning will require trial and improvement, so we ask for everyone’s patience and understanding as we adapt to this new style of learning.
During this time all students must comply with the Department of Education’s ‘Student use of digital devices and online services policy. Please click on the following link for further information.

Accessing Books
Unfortunately, no books can be borrowed from our school library during COVID-19. Here are a few alternatives:
· Amazon has just announced that their Audible books are now free while this COVID-19 situation continues.
· Students will also have access to books through Reading Eggs.
Learning at Home
Kindergarten to Year 2 Parents/Students
Class Dojo will be used to communicate with your child's teacher and access home learning. A note was sent home with details of how to access Class Dojo and your child’s login details.
If you are unsure of your child’s login details, you can call the school office on 6624 1444 for further information.

Year 3 to 6 Students - Google Classroom
All students in Years 3 to 6 will be using this service to communicate with their teacher.
Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
To join Google Classroom;
1. Go to www.education.nsw.gov.au
2. Click log in and select student portal.
3. The student will then enter their student log in and password. (If you are unsure of your student log in then contact the school office)
4. On the students’ portal, look for the section on the right “learning” and click on “show more”
5. Select “G Suite (Google Apps for Education) It will move you onto a new page
6. Select “Google Classroom”
7. You then have a logo pop up – select “I’m a student”
8. Look to the top right hand corner for the + button and “join your first class”
9. Enter the class code and click join. If your student was sent an email to join the class, then clicking on the link would have actioned this stage
10. You have now joined your Google Classroom
11. Teachers will upload the week’s timetable and supporting worksheets
12. Students will also be able to message teachers to clarify and support their learning
Zoom
For students to participate in Zoom conferencing, Teachers will be sending links via Class Dojo and Google Classroom.
Please note, students DO NOT need to download Zoom.
