High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?

Recognising potential and developing talent

Our teachers find potential and nurture our students to be the best they can be. We have a Stage 2 Pathways Program that feeds into the district Opportunity Class that is based at our school.

Tailored lessons

Each student has different abilities. Teachers respond to each student’s ability by providing extra challenges and extension activities to keep learning exciting and engaging.

Rich opportunities and activities

Students at our school engage in opportunities to develop talents in the arts, STEM, sport, leadership, and culture through taster and interest groups. We are part of the Rivers Academy of STEM Excellence, a collaboration between local schools and industry.

We offer coaching clinics to enhance students' physical education skills.

Weekly music lessons, led by our specialist, support students in learning various instruments, with opportunities to perform at school concerts and the Lismore Performing Arts Festival.

Opening doors to wider experiences

Our students engage in diverse state-wide programs to extend their potential, including the Premier's Spelling Bee, STEM Enrichment Partnership, Game Changer Challenges with Southern Cross University, GRIP and Halogen Leadership, Primary School Sport Pathway, Tournament of Minds, Far North Coast Dance Festival, Lismore Performing Arts Festival, and the Combined Schools Musical.
